Born in Boulder, CO, I have always loved photos. I remember sitting with my grandmother looking through the thick, dusty albums, studying the faces of people long since passed. She would tell me stories about her grandmother and the different adventures she and her brothers had as youngsters on the prairie. The smooth, glossy paper, worn after many years, held so much meaning to her. I remember being with my mother, fanning through the cardboard bankers box that contained all of our photos, watching her face as she came across pictures of her father who passed when she was far too young. Pictures to me have always been more than just a piece of paper. They are little moments of your life captured in a single frame. As I became a young mother, I realized how quickly the time passes. One moment your babies are… well, babies, and before you have a moment to catch your breath, they are beginning kindergarten. Somewhere along the way, my parents' once vibrant hair began to be speckled with grey, and the once soft smile lines have become permanent, beautiful, adornments on their faces. I know with each picture I’ve taken, I am creating a legacy for my children. One day they will be sitting with their families, looking through the dusty albums, studying the faces of people long since passed, telling stories about the different adventures they had as youngsters on the front range.
Let's create a legacy together.
